Membership Information

Joining LMRC  LMRC is open to all members of the public with rowing experience.  If you do not have prior rowing experience, you will need to take a rowing class before using club equipment.  Experienced Scullers need to demonstrate proficient boat handling skills in order to use club equipment.  Once a member joins they will meet with a coach to pass this check out process.   

Contact the Membership Chair if you would like a tour and introduction to the boathouse. 

Applications:  please contact the Membership Chair (membership@rowlakemerritt.org) and a packet will be emailed to you.   

Dues:  Membership in the Lake Merritt Rowing Club is $300 per year for adults, $180 per year for full time students, and $180 per year for second and subsequent club members of a family living at the same address. The membership year begins October 1 and ends September 30. Dues are prorated from the month joined.  Fees are waived for members who participate solely  as coxswain or coach

NOTE: All information regarding membership dues on this page is subject to change without notice. Any paperwork regarding membership that is distributed by the Membership Chair has precedence over what is listed on the web site.

 

Volunteer Hours:  All members are required to spend 12 hours per membership year (prorated from the month joined) helping to maintain club equipment in periodic work parties or projects organized by the boathouse manager.

 Swim Test:  Swim Tests may be signed off by any WSI or equivalent instructor.  Copies of current SCUBA certificates are accepted.  Swim Tests can be signed off at any of the Oakland Parks and Recreation Aquatics Pools Other pools in the area can administer the swim test.  You should verify pool hours and any fees associated with administering the test before you go to the pool.
