Sprint for the Gold @Lake Merritt Sprints!!! - June 15th, 2008

For 40 years, the Lake Merritt Rowing Club has held a unique place in rowing in Oakland. The Bay Area is the hub of competitive rowing in Northern California, and there is no place as suitable and accessible for rowing as Lake Merritt. Each year, LMRC sponsors one regatta -- the Lake Merritt Sprints in June.

The Lake Merritt Rowing Club is open to all community members who wish to learn the sport of rowing or refine their competetive skills. Since 1962 the Club has provided a wide range of rowing programs for all ages and skill levels. Our novice programs include Summer Youth Rowing, an introductory summer program for high school age kids, sculling lessons, and sweep lessons. Our member programs include Mixed Intermediate Crew for recreational and intermediate level rowers, Senior Men's Crew and Senior Women's Crew for advanced rowers, and San Francisco Bay Blades which is a primarily lesbian and gay group within LMRC.
